A new study finds that rich dudes are the biggest bullshitters: people who "claim knowledge or expertise in an area where they actually have little experience or skill" washingtonpost.com/business/2019/…
Check out how they measured bullshitting: they asked students to rate their knowledge of 16 mathematical topics, 3 of which were fake. Those who said they were knowledgeable about the fake ones were deemed to be bullshitters. washingtonpost.com/business/2019/…
Given that people from wealthy backgrounds bullshit more, the findings suggest that bullshitting may actually be beneficial to career success. And given mens' propensity toward bullshit, it may be contributing to the gender wage gap as well. washingtonpost.com/business/2019/…
