This is still one of my proudest accomplishments. (Although I didn't "sneak in," Kurt publicized his estate sale on Twitter and invited the general public to attend. Also never entered his bedroom. Either way, Kurt's the one who decided to sell his socks and nosehair trimmer)
By an Act of God I coincidentally happened to be in the Dallas area at the time. Here's the thread from my journey to the lair of Eichenwald. It was a hoot!
My favorite part might have been when Kurt denied that the socks on sale were his, only to later admit that they were in fact his socks

Hillary Clinton was on Rachel Maddow last night and declared that the United States is on the "road to tyranny" and House Democrats should "move toward" potential impeachment. She also said impeachment "if done right" would not be a political problem for Dems
Hillary added that Putin "doesn't like me because I stood up for America," and unnamed Russian officials are now sitting in Moscow wondering, "What are we going to do to help him (Trump) this time," meaning in the 2020 election. Hillary is still stoking the fires here, big time
Hillary praised Rachel Maddow's coverage of Trump/Russia and avowed that this issue is "far from over." Hillary also disclosed that she has been privately warning 2020 Dem candidates, in Maddow's words, that they could "lose at the hands of a foreign power"

Do the people YAAASS Queening Kamala Harris not realize that she was setting the groundwork for an outright rejection of the Mueller Report? Her premise was that Mueller may not have properly conveyed the underlying evidence in order to help Trump. She basically attacked Mueller!
Harris was sowing suspicion not just about Barr's representations of the Mueller Report, or any aspect involving Barr, but of Mueller's handling of the underlying evidence which was then crafted into the Report. So she's now strongly implying that Dems should not trust Mueller!
Her line of questioning (which was at least coherent, unlike Hirono) indicates Dems do not view the Mueller Report as the final word on these matters. They demand to see "underlying evidence." Which means Trump/Russia is going to continue to be a live issue indefinitely. Enjoy!

One of my proudest accomplishments was working on this two-day pop-up museum exhibit that we ran in October. The video game museum in my head has rotating exhibits like this: a visually striking display that tells a specific story that makes you think about games in a new way.
Specifically, what I wanted to express here was that the "Nintendo Entertainment System," if you knew where to look, literally never went away. There have been new commercial games written for the hardware every year since its debut 35 years ago. No other system can claim this.
Official support stopped around 1995 as the major markets moved on to new systems like the PlayStation. But in some countries you couldn't officially buy these new systems. Enter the "Famiclone" - a knock-off NES that was really, really cheap to manufacture.

And for the curious, there's a lot of insight into my brothers' and my semi-Victorian childhood in these pix. My dad was a great scrounger & collector.
We grew up in a house packed with odds & ends on every surface, and books & pictures covering every wall. It is heartbreaking to see some of this go, although we have kept some things my dad & mom loved best. One day, we'll get to the books--the hardest thing of all.

2) Hundreds of years ago, investors came to West Virginia and purchased most of the land for all but nothing. Even today, you will be hard pressed to find many people in WV who own their mineral rights.
3) They wanted our salt, timber and coal. They came in, paid our people essentially nothing for it and then put in the railroad. West Virginia has always been a colony.
