"Cultural Marxism" is a longtime conspiracy theory of the far right which posits a shadowy cabal of Jews has rigged academia and media to promote diversity and multiculturalism to destabilize society and clear the way for a Marxist-Leninist takeover.
The idea is absolutely batshit insane. But it has informed decades of right-wing populist thinking and radicalized hundreds of people into committing acts of racist and anti-Semitic violence.

And in the Trump era, it bubbles close to the surface of mainstream GOP doctrine.
In fact, when you think about it, the "Cultural Marxism" theory is just what Hitler preached, packaged in new language.

Hitler claimed Jews used the media and academics to persuade Germany to surrender in WWI, then rigged the economy to collapse to force Bolshevism on everyone.
So, needless to say, these ideas are dangerous.

But they carry on right-wing media, even "mainstream" right-wing media like Fox News: m.dailykos.com/stories/2019/1…

1) Kamala Harris: fierce progressive, on the right side of major criminal justice issues long before their time, great platform and record, would tear the head off of Trump in a debate, and Trump doesn't even seem to know what to do about her. That puts her at the top for me.

All surprise medical bills should be illegal.

Hospitals should be prohibited from tacking extra bills onto patients paying for a large procedure out of pocket if they didn't disclose that bill as a possibility up front.

Period.
When you go to a hospital for, say, a major surgery, the hospital should tell you *every* doctor who might bill you, their likely price range to within a certain degree of accuracy, and what it costs to treat complications.

Anything not disclosed up front shouldn't be billable.
This might result in the procedure itself being slightly more expensive up front. But it would mean patients can actually account for all the costs ahead of time, budget for them, and factor them into their decision if the procedure is elective.

This is why I have no respect for right-wingers who generally oppose Trump but support his judicial picks.

Federalist Society judges are hacks. The legal principles they talk about mean shit to them. They'll rule for Trump on anything, and against Dems in the same kind of case.
If you don't think Thief Justice Gorsuch and Judge Beer Bong won't immediately change their views on executive power when a Democratic president takes office and rule the exact same agencies have zero discretion to interpret the law on anything, I have a bridge to sell you.
I'm with Mayor Pete on this. Our top priority once taking the presidency and Senate should be nullifying the power of these ill-installed RNC operatives with gavels.

I'm done going through the motions of pretending our federal courts still function. This is war.

Regardless, it should be a cause for deep reflection from those who promoted and legitimised the UN Global Compact conspiracy theory.

The local version of the conspiracy went that the UN, under the sway of the "Globalists", was planning to take away New Zealand's sovereignty over immigration policy. None of this was true, as legal advice from Crown Law showed.
