An observation:

I often escape the kind of vicious, misogynistic abuse many gender critical feminists experience on this platform. I don't know why.

However, the times I have been subject to great swathes of (mostly men) descending on my mentions with insults and threats, it

has always been as a result of pointing out the sexual motivations behind certain behaviours.

Shon Faye once posed in bondage gear with a glazed look and open mouth looking much like a blow up doll. I tweeted that I found this idea of what a woman was disturbing. That I thought

it an insult to women. That I thought there were men who found it exciting to act out this fantasy of subordination. And all hell broke loose. I experienced a good three days of death threats.

Yesterday I tweeted that a man who gets off on dressing like a small furry animal also

enjoys promoting extreme murderous violence against women who do not share his views on sex and gender. I called out the men supporting him. I said I feel there is a generalised push for mens right to express their various kinks and fetishes in public, and for peoples

discomfort to be reframed as bigotry, and that this is connected to what Shon Faye was doing in that picture: expressing a hyper sexualised vision of womanhood, and then reframing women's anger and discomfort as some kind of bigotry. As though we haven't suffered for centuries

as a result of being made sexual objects for men.

Again, all hell has broken loose. And my conclusion is this: Men get extremely angry when you try to take their toys away. Men believe their right to sexual expression is more important than womens dignity and freedom. And many

men are in total denial about all of this.

My mentions are currently a sea of this denial; of white hot anger at someone having the temerity to touch such a sensitive nerve.

Whatever. I see you. And so does everyone else.
