Pretty much any conceivable centrist approach on climate won't be a hard compromise everyone can live with but something everyone hates equally.
Neither "we're all going to die tomorrow" nor "having children is evil" nor "this is a hoax" nor "if it does happen it'll be fine" admit of averages.
On the specifics: Biden's for nuclear. Great! But nuclear is not anyone's compromise position. You have to have a vision for it aside from the the technocratic one that has failed for 40 years. reuters.com/article/us-usa…

I have some questions about this article. The El Paso massacre "has revived debate about the limits of free speech, protected by the First Amendment in the United States."

Who's reviving it, aside from this article itself? The article offers no examples. nytimes.com/2019/08/06/wor…
Question two: The article talks at great length about precedents for legal restrictions on free speech. What is the case for how any of these might have stopped the El Paso massacre? Again, no attempt to address this.
Is the idea that if it had been illegal for the El Paso shooter to publish his racist manifesto, that might have prevented the shooting? That's outlandish.

It's hard to know if it's more remarkable that the Dayton police were able to take out the shooter so quickly ⁠— less than a minute, according to reports ⁠— or that he was nonetheless able to kill and injure so many in in that time.
"More good guys with guns" is not unreasonable as one among many parts of a national response, but this sure shows its limits.
At the press conference, Dayton PD says they took out the shooter within 30 seconds of the first shot. 37 people in 30 seconds. This is... incredible if true.

I read a space-opera-y series and really enjoyed it for what it was (because I love the Dark Jewels Trilogy, so sue me), but can I just mention how frustrating it is when you have kingdoms that span solar systems and somehow everything feels N. European as fuck?
#Worldbuilding.
You find touchstones everywhere as a reader, even if you're not necessarily thinking about it.
This means it behooves the author who wants to write inclusively to be more careful about the spoken and unspoken traditions that they are adding to the world.
Solstices, for example.
They're a big thing in China too, so one could argue that "hey, if there's solstice celebrations, it doesn't have to be Euro-centric."
Sure, but add in a tree and presents and boom, hey look, what holiday are we referencing?

First, where did Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan plan come from? (George Soros, perhaps? Foreign-funded radicals?) No. It came from Albertans. A volunteer panel led by @andrew_leach spoke w 1K residents in-person and heard from 25K+ online. 2/24
The panel also engaged with 350+ stakeholders and met w Aboriginal Peoples in three cities, and received hundreds of detailed submissions from NGOs, industry groups and others. 3/24
