Thread: So here's to another end of the season, another top half finish but what if? By using xG I've worked out the points we would expect to have based on the quality of the chances we created and conceded.

Points: 64 Position:11th
xPoints: 69 Position: 9th

2/ One of the biggest problems was the off field problems. Smith leaving after 12 games and the transition to a new management team.

The tragic death of Robert Rowan shocked the club to core, may he rest in peace ❤️

3/ One thing that has also changed is the system, transitioning from a 4-3-3 to 5-3-2 (In defence) and a 3-4-3 (when attacking.) The system has brought various degrees of success but with a whole preseason Frank can tweak and get it embedded into the players.

4/ Frank has also spoken in a recent interview with @bfcgpg about the willingness to adapt the system to what he sees fit. Potentially meaning a return to a back 4 with the departures we've had so far or something new....

5/ The GK position has been debated heavily this season, personally I think Bentley is still improving and plenty of time to grow. Bonham leaving and Daniels are departing, I think Anderson and Balcombe will push on from the number 2 shirt and maybe even push on Bentley.

6/ Personally, I agree with the club's decision not to resign Odubajo, he's done a good job coming off a 2 year injury lay off. Henrik has been superb this season, in both attack and defence and cemented his place as our starting RB/RWB and hopefully kick on.

7/ The future 3? These 3 were really good at the back end of the season and I have enjoyed watching MBS developing over the last games, with Yoann leaving will he be the starting next year.

At the 21, Konsa has been a ball playing rock this year and hopefully we'll keep him.

8/ Glad to finally have Rico put his injuries behind him and starting show why he'll hopefully be 1st choice. Really looking forward to see him playing a full season and really kick on.

9/ The General and Sawyers have been a fabulous pairing in the middle. Mokotjo provides the perfect balance between defence and providing a quick attacking transition to set the electric front 3. Sawyers is just wow, is one of the best players that this club has ever had...

10/ The Fab 4....
I'll just leave that here and how incredible they have all been.

11/ Closing thoughts: I think this season has been one of several off field changes/problem which have hampered us this season.

This summer will be an overhaul, I believe many will leave this season and in Brentford style we replace with players that are equally or better.

12/ Will do the odds bits and bobs on players that are joining us and thoughts on them leaving.
