Today I am headed to my local #MadisonWI @PFLAG meeting where I was invited to be their guest speaker this month. It’s an honor to do this bc I know how much it would have meant to me to come out earlier in life & have a supportive parent in that process.
I am the kind of person who gets teary-eyed every year at a Pride when I see young #queer kids looking happy & free AF. For those kids to exist we need orgs like @PFLAG which provide support & resources to educate & create community for parents of queer kids.
As our society changes, perhaps we’ll have a generation of adults fully open & prepared to parent queer & trans youth, but in the meantime we need these resources to help parents learn how to support LBGTQ+ kids. Hell, I wish my mom would go to a PFLAG meeting & I’m 32 years old!

Back after a weeklong personal/professional trip and honestly dragging. First, unpacking & settling in. Then, work. #goals:
-Catch up on email
-Make a to do list for this week & next
-Write letter of recommendation
-Complete an article peer review
Status update: Almost 11:30 and I’ve mostly unpacked, caught up on e-mail & wrote a letter of rec. Doing laundry to finish the unpacking, then the peer review. Then lunch. Lunch is a must today. Still so very tired.
Completed my goals for today before 4! Which means I can squeeze in some reading before it’s quittin time!

Ok so there are such WILDLY different framing of the story of Albert Wilson, a black man, who was sentenced to 12 years for raping a 17 year old he met at a bar that I don’t know what to even think.

I used to have a life sized poster of this man on my wall as an 8th header. I may or may not have kissed that poster sometimes. I have not thought about Pacey Witter in years, yet I am compelled to watch whatever this will be. #DawsonsCreek

If I were a student in this class, there'd be no way I hadn't read the entire chapter already. Well, I'd have read the entire book, of course. I really did do that, too, when I was in college. After buying my textbooks, which I hated, I would go to the library, which I loved.
The greatest trick I ever learned was to read the primary sources for any class. If you're in college now, give it a try. It may well be the difference between a B and an A. Seriously. I'd check out 5 primary sources and I'd always end up finding one that was my favorite.

SPM sucks. Sorry, kids. Just try your best, get it over & done with. At least pass all papers then get the hell out of school. Pursue your passion with perseverance. Uni is cool but not the only way. Explore all possibilities. Nobody's stupid; we're all smart in different things.
When I said SPM sucks, I meant exams generally & I personally don't like them. You don't have to hate them too. We have our own minds. Nak buat macam mana, dah itu kayu pengukurnya. Jadi hadap & kayuh sajalah. With the bestest effort that you could put forward while you're at it.
Why I said- uni is cool but not the only way? I was a lecturer at private college & public uni for 7 years. Been invited as guest speaker at schools & conduct workshops for the past 10 years. You know what our Form Fivers' biggest fear & worst nightmare is?

Time to talk about #InfinityWar. I'll keep the hashtag in all tweets.
#InfinityWar is the culmination of 10 years of building a whole connected universe of movies. It is an incredible feat. And all of that was to make it even more devastating to watch it all collapse.
I don't know what their plans are for Avengers 4. But the MCU is effectively changed as of #InfinityWar. It'll be like TV where the second to last episode is really the season shocker. The season finale is just about wrapping up and setting up next season.

(1) Today I'm celebrating the best Easter in my 48 years on this earth.

And I'm not even a Christian. But I'll tell you why I'm so grateful for the life and death of Jesus Christ, and those who follow him today, especially those in the USA.
(2) Some years ago I came across the online atheist community, and became very interested in their views and practices. During that time I opened this Twitter account, as a way to connect to that community. I keep the account bc changing the username is too much of a hassle now.
(3) I don't support the practice of assuming a person's beliefs and labeling them according to their Twitter username. I'm an agnostic, not an atheist. I don't believe in God, but I never rule anything out. Atheist SJWs are some of the biggest bullies online.

Quick Story. Ehh,Kinda. Well, it's not the longest I've ever told, I'm sure of that.
Growing up, I was always in a constant cycle of doing something stupid, and enduring some kind of punishment for doing it.
Thing is, there were times where the punishment I received was for an action completely unrelated to the action I SHOULD’VE been punished for, BUT it was the exact punishment I would’ve gotten if I’d gotten punished for what I initially did.
