1/ The GOP wants to make the debate about capitalism vs. socialism. But in doing so, they are exposing their biggest weakness: their support for an economic system that benefits a few, and fails regular people. New @NavigatorSurvey -- voters don't want capitalism without rules:
@NavigatorSurvey 2/ Here's the clear way to beat the GOP's "the economy is great/everything is fine" argument. Note even 40% of people who think the economy is going well agree with the progressive side of the argument here:
@NavigatorSurvey 3/ What's interesting about this is that the argument works whether or not the conservative argument references socialism and capitalism. We tested it with that language from the right, and the results were essentially the same:
@NavigatorSurvey 4/ The conservative argument against burdensome regulations really falls flat. In fact, it can be flipped on it's head by saying the rules favor the powerful, not the public.
