Added: I'm getting some questions about Change UK. I admire what they're trying to do, and their time may come, but their numbers have been dropping in recent polls and the trend's in the wrong direction. For that reason I don't believe they will make it over the MEP threshold.

Would have saved £4 billion in no-deal prep, and focused minds admirably.

Persuading people to vote tactically is *very hard*. (Although maybe others will have had more success.) Goes to what I've said before, i.e. only a very tiny % of people will ever vote tactically unless they spontaneously switch party alliances. It's too tough to reach them!
(Fortunately huge numbers of people may change parties for an election cycle on instinct, their own research, chats with friends etc. and that's just as tactical, if not more, as reading someone else's guide and acting on it...)
That said, I've done my little bit and I'm not unhappy about it. It is what it is. We are where we are. Have a great Friday and weekend! Hopefully the election results on Sunday night will be a pleasant surprise to us all.

Don't shoot me if I'm wrong, but I believe if there's a queue at the polling station and you join the back of the queue before 10pm, you can still vote!

p.17 of the Electoral Commission's guide seems to back this up (numbered p.17, actual p.21)

Often lexiters pretend l there is some kind of choice between a labour government and stopping brexit this is totally false since 1 a general election must happen soon anyway and the tories would be destroyed by #Brexit being stopped

I have noticed that some on the Labour left greet news of any set back for #PeoplesVote with almost as much glee as hard brexiters this cannot be because they want #Brexit as they will often state they voted remain and would vote remain again so bears examination
Labour left tend to produce a constant steam of excuses why they can't oppose #brexit they will say corbyn can do nothing because he isn't in power thus rejecting the very concept of opposition
They will claim they can't offend labour leave voters the implication being remainers who voted tactically to deprive the tories of a majority in 2017 may be ignored with impunity or claim a 2nd ref will anger the far right who hate @jeremycorbyn anyway

So. Tomorrow the House of Commons will vote on a series of possible amendments to Theresa May's 'Plan B' - or rather the 'plan of action to achieve a Plan B' - which itself officially reads as follows:
The amendment most likely to pass – and therefore the one on which most attention has been paid – is this one from Conservative party chairman Sir Graham Brady. It's effectively an instruction to go back and seek *some unstated other way* to avoid a hard border in Ireland:
Tonight, Theresa May has asked her backbenchers to vote in favour of this amendment. She is basically asking them to tie her hands, so that Brussels will clearly know what it would take to win the Commons' backing for any deal.

#BREXIT craziness update so maybots deal is blown out of the water l. Similarly corbyns vote of no confidence fails and won't be backed by SNP and lib dems
Despite her #BREXIT deal being defeated by biggest margin a government has lost a vote ever maybot seeks concessions on backstop despite being told to bog off by the EU with no realistic hope of a different answer
Corbyn meanwhile refuses to talk #BREXIT without no deal being ruled out despite knowing she can't do this whilst maybot makes no concessions either.

In all previous years, the tone has been almost entirely hostile to incomers - particularly in the build-up to #euref.
This year, there have been as many positive or neutral stories about migration as negative. (3/?)

1) What Dominic did
There may be solid behind the scenes reasons for Grieve voting against his own amendment, but what he did today is very symbolic
Other votes were important but this was the big one, the meaningful vote, and Grieve has made a grave error for a number of reasons
2) Firstly the entire Labour "soft #Brexit" strategy was built around the meaningful vote. It may have been real, it may have been fluff, but it was one potential line of defence that Grieve has now weakened.

Labour were clear and the 6 tests were being mentioned again
3) Secondly the meaningful vote amendment was something everyone could get behind & was hard to criticize.

EEA amendments had pros & cons and didn't satisfy all anti brexiters but this was easy to defend and support across the spectrum
