I am going to sit quietly and count to ten and not yell and scream at someone that marginalized communities can marginalize other communities and sometimes the answer to 'what can I do better?' has actually been 'stop breathing my air'.
Why am I even mentally drafting the rhetorical creep awareness thread I was considering if citing membership of the speaker in a single marginalized group means you can't say 'actually, no, it offends you that (other marginalized group) is allowed here, but that isn't changing'?
Half the active problem of rhetorical creep I've personally seen is the rad fem weaponization of teenage lesbians just out of the closet who get their information from sources that claim anyone saying otherwise is lesbophic.
Not allowing that marginalized groups can be wrong in claiming something is oppressing them gets you bisexuals pushed out of Pride (or even back into closets) and all those lovely dust-ups the past few years over whether Jews can be at Pride without hiding their religion first.
The entire thing that just happened with the #exvangelical community this past week was based on turning 'we are women, no one can say we're wrong about claims something is oppressing us' into an oppressive tool against another (more!) marginalized gender group.
I mean, by that argument the Anglican communion fights automatically get ceded to the 'cis straight men and cis straight women only, get women out of leadership, ban gay marriage again' African bishops because they're citing colonialism (in support of colonial imports!).
Is the Stay At Home Daughter movement untouchable if they made Voddie Baucham the spokesman? Black preacher's beliefs versus the outcry of religiously trapped primarily-white women, who wins if you can't bring facts in and it's all about relative levels of marginalization?
Good god, the things I've heard cited as oppression.

Only selling pridegear of 6 stripes or less. Not having three colors of red and three colors of pink in your craft supply source for pridewear. Use of purple in non-rainbow pride flags. Being a straight ally near Pride.
People have I kid you not been told they were oppressive and ought to be ashamed of themselves if they didn't stock things that they had already tried to sell and failed to, because of one single pride flag under ten years in general use that most people it represents don't use.
And do not get me started on what happened the night a teenage girl headcanoned the moon as the wrong sexual orientation.

In the name of claiming she'd offended a marginalized group and needed to be traumatically taught a large hunk of rock is a woman attracted to other women.
If you are part of a marginalized group, yes you can be wrong on a factual level about things going on around you. Yes you can be someone else's oppressor. Yes you can try to use your oppressors' tools to give yourself more power, more space, more consideration.

And it's wrong.
Oh and this is happening in the news right the hell now.

Have any idea how many protections for trans people went away in the past 72 hours? It's A LOT.

And a bunch of them? Went down in the name of protecting women from men. Because of the same rhetoric that hit #exvangelical
This isn't online word games. This isn't petty squabbles over someone saying something wrong.

This is 'a bunch of Americans will be unable to stray away from home for over three hours at a time'. Because of claims trans women by existing in physical space oppress women.
Like I said, sometimes when you ask 'what should I do to fix it?' the answer you get is 'stop breathing my air'.
