Fun cosplay conversation from the weekend: if you see someone dressed as a character you recognize, and the costume hasn't been seriously modified to confirm to a gendered ideal, don't assume the cosplayer is doing "male Cinderella" or "female Hades."
I saw a person with large breasts doing an absolutely slamming pin-up Oogie Boogie (which was female Oogie, according to a brief conversation), and a person without them dressed as Ariel, who was just Ariel.
If you don't know someone's pronouns, don't shout "look! Male _____!" You could be misgendering them and souring a costume they chose because it made them feel good about themselves.
