I just had the most hostile encounter I've ever had in public. I was at a grocery store and put my stuff in the wrong cart, and this dude started yelling and swearing at me. I thought he was joking, until he got even louder and more belligerent. And he was wearing a baby!
I was about to say something about his language in front of a child, but just said it was a mistake and walked away. I can't even imagine getting that angry over a shopping cart. I feel sorry for his kid, growing up with a dad that wound up is going to be miserable.
How damaged does your psyche have to be to pick a fight with a stranger at a grocery store while you're wearing a baby? Who takes that kind of risk? What if I was as agro as him? What if I had a gun? Was it really worth the ten seconds of feeling super powerful? Damn.
