On a walk through the woods with the dogs before making my way to the airport. Reciting memory work & presently midway thru Gal 5. (Behind on my goal but the only way to do it is to KEEP doing it.) When you recite Scripture, you can feel the strength return to your weary bones.
I’ve said so many times the Son of God saved my soul & the Word of God saved my mind. Anyway, I so love & always take pause with Gal 5:6. “In Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.” Man, those last 5 words.
We are called by God to live by faith. That’s such a familiar concept to us. But here we are also called by God to LOVE by faith. Loving by faith means we keep doing it, by the power of Christ, even when we can’t tell it is doing a whit of good. Even when we are not loved back.
1 Cor 13:8 says love never fails. It may fail to bring about the result we long for but, in Jesus, it NEVER fails. Though it may seem in our eyes to miserably fail those we loved, loving when it’s really hard will not fail to affect us & shape our hearts like His. Love by faith.
