With 4 parties closely clustered more important than ever to remember polls are estimates with margins of error. And to remember that Euro elex reliably give a boost to parties which do well in them. Let’s see how things shake out in a month or two.
It’s quite possible the party system is going to be realigned by the referendum. Happened in Scotland after 2014. It’s also quite possible that things revert to previous patterns. Or something in between.
The only certainty is that with criss-cutting divides, record low partisanship, very unpopular leaders and an all-consuming polarising issue which ain’t be resolved soon, there will be more twists and turns to come from a volatile and divided electorate
