At work yesterday, A 7yr old girl was rushed into the emergency. She has been bleeding from her vagina for the past 24hrs due to a 40 yr old uncle who raped her. Patient died 5mins on reaching the hospital.
I saw a father cry like a baby, it was so heartbreaking.

Followed up the case today, father arrested uncle last night, uncle paid bail of 10,000 naira and was released today. Oh and uncle is an "influential somebody" in this town. Child was buried today.
Uncle probably scouting for next victim.

Update! Pedophile(uncle) was caught yesterday, and handed over to appropriate authorities, thankful to the Pple/organization that reached out to me privately over here, the father is "lawyered" up this time. We pray justice prevails!

The hospital did its part by releasing medical reports both written and pictorial again which we did earlier, to the authorities and we were assured that the station and officers involved in granting the "uncle" bail are being investigated.

That was my point of bringing it to twitter because i was so enraged and handicapped by the ethical code tying this profession. Atleast we got 2 lawyers proven to be effective out of this publicity. If you are genuinely interested to help the parents get justice, DM me.

I pray justice prevails this time. Heard from the relatives that father got in some blows and gave the "uncle" a broken ankle before "uncle" was finally taken in, cant prove this since i haven't seen the culprit nor the father today. But i choose to believe it!
