Every time a member of Trump's national security advisory committee meets with a Russian national in 2016, they tell Sam Clovis. Every time they need permission to do anything Russia-related, they ask Clovis. Clovis's hires immediately get contacted by Kremlin agents. Meaningful?
/ There are a number of men who played big roles in the Mueller Report who could play even bigger ones in the Mueller-derived counterintelligence report that—presumably—will some day be seen by *someone* in government. Clovis is on my list of (*ahem*) "under-appreciated people."
/ Not saying Clovis is a foreign agent or anything—I'm saying he had been fully briefed on Trump's intentions with respect to Russia way before almost anyone else on the campaign, and he was a hub of Russia info who then told America, "I don't know anything." Just not buying it.
/ To hear the Trump campaign tell it, *no one* on the campaign ever told *anyone*—least of all Trump!—anything about anything. The stories these guys tell have them withholding *everything* from one another. And if that also sounds to you like every mob movie you've ever seen...
/ Maybe that's why, on pg. 10 of the Mueller Report, Mueller delivers the bad news everyone keeps forgetting to mention: he tells America that EVERYONE LIED TO ME AND WITHHELD FROM ME, and that therefore the report he's just given us is little more than a first draft of a story.
/ No one's ever explained why we're treating a report whose author says on page 10 of 448 EVERYONE LIED TO ME AND WITHHELD FROM ME like some sort of authoritative last word on what happened. Heck, the Mueller Report's subtitle—for all practical purposes—is "The Best I Could Do."
