When the dossier became public in Jan 2017, the media scrambled to assure us that Christopher Steele was a man of the utmost integrity with superb credentials and totally legit sources that confirmed Team Trump was in cahoots with the Russians... amgreatness.com/2019/06/11/ano…
The usual suspects—CNN, WashPo, NYT—reported that a “former British intelligence officer” was reliable and credible; Steele was the last honest man trying to save the world from Donald Trump.

But it was all another media-manufactured lie about collusion:

As Congressional investigations continued, we learned the truth about Steele. He was a paid political operative for Clinton campaign and DNC. Far from being honest and reliable, he was fired by the FBI for talking with the media before the 2016 election...

Steele also was repping Oleg Deripaska, the Putin-tied Russian oligarchs in trouble with the US government.

Steele was tight with Bruce and Nellie Ohr, and had ties to Obama State Department.

Once again @RepStefanik blasts Comey for failing to brief Gang of 8 about Crossfire Hurricane for eight months, in violation of protocol. She confronted Comey about it in March 2017—Comey said he withheld the info from intel leaders because the investigation was sensitive, lol.
