It is 6 years anniversary for #ManOfSteel. The film that I saw 4 times in theaters and keep all 4 tickets to this day. I saw it with my friend, with my sister, with my brother and alone. This is the Superman that forever changed my general worldview on life and media.
That Krypton sequence is a masterpiece and it gave us the best portrayals of Jor and Lara to date. The amount of love and care they immediately have for their newborn son is both charming and heartbreaking. I just wish we had more of them. Beautiful parents of Kal-El.
I'm still in love with how Clark's first appearance was handled. We cut immediately to him wandering the world, seeking for his place in it and already being a badass savior of those in need where nobody else can help. Right away we are shown what kind of person he is by now.
Kents. Parents who realistically took the situation of having an alien kid as their adopted son. As Zack Snyder said in his films Superman is faced against the world that doesn't care about truth and justice as much as he does and Kents were preparing him exactly for that.
One of my most favorite things about Zack Snyder's Superman is how serious he was taken. How his existence in realistic world would affect humanity, science, religion, everything. We've got harsher environment for Superman and his goodness struggling against it is insipartional.
Man of Steel also shows the amount of composure Clark has while living in a world full of horrible shit and human atrocities. How being Superman is not about flying or holding buildings, but standing up to assholes while not going down to their level. This is how good man acts.
Man of Steel also gave us the best father and son relationship between Kal and Jor. Not only is Jor constantly mentions Lara to his son so he knew that both of his parents cared about him and participated in his departure, but he constantly encourages him to be a superhero.
One of the main messages of Man of Steel that really got to me is this. We all are born to live by expectations of others, constantly told what to do and how to do, barely having own deicisions and choices which are dictated to us by society. That's not the way, Jor-El says.
Man of Steel was also a saving grace for Clois shipers while horrendous New 52 was happening in @DCComics back then. MoS drastically changed their dynamic by removing love triangle, allowing them to get to know each other completely with no secrets right away. It was amazing.
Amy Adams' Lois Lane. So much good can be said about her. I love that she discovers Superman in his origin film. I love how her investigation gives us an insight both on her skills and on Clark's early days heroism. Outstanding. She is a badass.
My all time favorite scene not only in Man of Steel, but ever is The Flight. It has EVERYTHING I love about Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill's Superman. Jor-El's speech, Hans Zimmer's score, breathtaking visuals and transition to Lois' investigation. Pure perfection.
I can talk about MoS forever. I love every micro second of it. Thank you Zack Snyder, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Hans Zimmer, David Goyer and every single person involved in creating this amazing movie. You made my life better. You made me a force for good. #ManOfSteelAnniversary
