If you value peace in Ireland then you need to be in a customs union and stay in the single market (or follow the single market rules in perpetuity) @RoryStewartUK
Your proposal would mean a hard border and would go against the GFA and section 10 of the Withdrawal Act @RoryStewartUK 
You must know all this because the December 2017 report was clear about the need for alignment beyond tariffs
If you also want Northern Ireland to have unfettered access to the UK and no border you need a customs union and to follow single market rules. This is not new @RoryStewartUK
I admire your attempts to change the tone of the debate and move forward @RoryStewartUK but you cannot ignore reality
So not only do you need to explain the trade offs involved in leaving the EU but also you need to explain the minimum the UK will agree to that actually preserves peace in Ireland @RoryStewartUK
What does the UK stand for if it does not put peace as its number one priority with its neighbours @RoryStewartUK ?
Surely you must agree you cannot build a stable future without peace @RoryStewartUK ?
So please keep going with calling out the truth but don’t fall down on the Irish border. If you want people to trust you you need to trust them with the truth @RoryStewartUK
