Actually, cops, unlike public defenders, make overtime, which is why you conveniently always schedule your arrests at the end of your shifts.

Oh, and we don't get paid by the case, but you do have arrest quotas, which also count towards your promotions.

So yeah, there's that.
All the cops on this thread saying I don't know how law enforcement works, maybe you missed the part where I am a public defender. I work in this system. I know how arrests work. I see the time when arrests are made during a shift. I cross examine cops at hearings and trials.
Also, this is my page. I don't have to respond to anyone's comments. I didn't know posting an article about body cameras would result in a bunch of cops replying with ad hominem attacks, although maybe I should have. So I posted some articles & made logical arguments.
That's kinda it for me. You can engage among yourselves and be outraged about "scummy" public defenders and "criminals." Maybe you saw this? theappeal.org/spotlight-in-a…
Because I don't think it's appropriate as police officers to express on social media (or in fact hold) the views you have of criminal defendants. But, really, keep at it.
PS I have no problem criticizing criminal defense lawyers who represent clients poorly. I think it's immoral. I think they should be disciplined & if appropriate disbarred. I care about the people I represent, not lawyers. I don't get why you defend bad cops above all else.
