At times our fight to protect the citizens' rights of @the3million and British in Europe feels like one step forward and two back. However, today we are pleased to see that our recent meeting with SoS @SteveBarclay has resulted in a clearly worded letter to @MichelBarnier.
We thank the Secretary of State and Minister @WalkerWorcester for listening to the concerns that we raised and reflecting them fully. Thank you to @AlbertoCostaMP too for organising the meeting. We appreciate your strong support for citizens' rights.

Clear evidence from the first panel about EUinUK reflecting many of the same issues as we face re reaching and then assisting vulnerable or hard to reach populations, such as accessibility, languages etc.
Funding is important. How to reach rural communities of EUinUK = how to reach rural UKinEU. We have had NO FUNDING from the UK or EU to help reach vulnerable or inaccessible populations (or anything else). Is this fair? There has been v limited funding made available for EUinUK.

A great number of you supported our CrowdJustice appeal which enabled us to research and analyse well over 1,000 individual cases of citizens on both sides of the Channel who were denied their vote. We used our findings to get advice from our expert public law practitioners.
Following this advice BiE, will not pursue further action at this stage. However, @the3million will go ahead to start legal proceedings against the Government. You can support them and donate to their new appeal.

While we welcome amplification of our issues, this actual situation is that there are contingency plans in place for the short term in key countries for a no deal scenario (but there are worrying holes). We are presenting evidence on this to the Exiting the EU committee on Weds.
However, if the UK won't pay their debts etc, we don't know if these plans will be revised. What is clear is that this uncertainty has already caused many pensioners to return to the UK if they can, while those who cannot for financial or physical reasons...
have spent 3 years living in fear as cliff-edge after cliff-edge arrives, always fearing the worst as there is very little information available and little effort has been made to reach them. This is no way for anyone to live and has caused much deterioration in health.

The UK Govt, like @WalkerWorcester here, and UK press in general keep on repeating that the #citizensrights of the EU citizens in the UK have been guaranteed even in case of a #NoDealBrexit.

This myth buster will look these claims in more detail.
Myth 1: #citizensrights in case of no-deal are guaranteed
@Stuart_McDonald busting this myth here: “a unilateral promise from the Prime Minister can be here today & gone tomorrow. [...] it doesn't bind her successors [...] their rights can be repealed at a blink of an eye"
Myth 2: It is a registration process
Often repeated in the press that Settled Status is a registration process:

1. Odds are the president is going to go on television tonigh to announce that he’s going to agree to reopen the government after 17 days of closure while simultaneously invoking national emergency powers allowing him to bypass Congress to start building a wall on the border.
2. If this happens, and it’s still an if, you’re going to hear plenty of people react in ways that range from concern to alarm to fear to outright panic. Some will accuse Donald Trump of trying to be an American dictator.
3. Others will argue, I think correctly, that the president is abusing the constitutional powers of his office, reinforcing the claim that he’s unfit to rule and sending him one further step toward removal.
