Today’s Judiciary hearing looked at the rising threat that corrupt government – kleptocracy – poses. With each passing day, we learn more about how Russia exploits our laws to hide riches, bribe officials, & undermine democracy.
When Mark Zuckerberg came before Judiciary, he told me that if a Russian operative advertised on Facebook through a U.S. shell corporation, they would run the ad without tracing its true source.

One simple way to harden our legal system against kleptocratic abuse is to require private corporations to report & update their true beneficial ownership information. I’ve been proud to work with @ChuckGrassley & @SenFeinstein on the #TITLEAct, a bill that would do just that.
