Young people on RSA at some point have to get serious about life and what it truly means to build an economy. Decided not to watch SONA and read it instead in order to avoid the "dreamer" charm the President often utilizes. So here are my thoughts on #SONA2019

Today's speech was the equivalent of having your boss give that Monday morning pep talk about the company of fairing and where he imagines it growing in the future.... But then doesn't tell you what to do for the week. #SONA2019

The whole essence the speech was "We think we have a plan to build an economy. It's comprehensive. But can't tell you all of it. But here are some of the highlights. Btw whilst I have your attention... listen to this pretty poem" #SONA2019

What is a young person suppose to do with a damn poem when the vast majority of young people are unemployed, poverty stricken, facing some form of gender based violence or stuck medieval form of income inequality. It's actually a bit insulting #SONA2019

Mr President, listen fam. You have already inspired us with Ramaphoria and the New Dawn or whatever ntontoni you want to call it. We get you my man. But Thuma us somewhere. You can't be telling us about bullet trains when the rail system of South Africa is in shambles #SONA2019

Dont treat us like we are forgetful. Telling us that you are going to bailout Eskom whilst at the same time not giving a single update on your promise to restructure Eskom.

Dont say we cant let Eskom fail, as if the ordinary citizen was ever responsible for that failure. Like some how we were all put into the Eskom project like is a high school group assignment #SONA2019

You talk about DataMustFall as if government hasn't had the power to issue high level spectrum licences immediately. Your fear of the @Vodacom and @MTNza of this world is misguided. You're the Gov! If they don't play ball, tell them they cant participate in any gov business

We stay being held ransom by the private sector😒but they gave us R840m. Chump change really. But why dont you tell as what the 43 projects are, what 19 sectors are they in and what are the 150k jobs. Are the low/high skilled, high/low paying, temp/perm #SONA2019

You want us to buy local. Sho. Cool story. But what local good. Are we focusing on informal or formal markets. Are we buying more textile goods, manufactured, agricultural etc? What if they aren't on the shelves... Then what? Like just tell us my man. Thuma us! #SONA2019

If you are going to call youth unemployment a national crisis, then call a state of emergency. I dont want to be alarmist but the reality is that my generation has become the sacrificial lamb of RSAs failed economic project and it feels like our parents dont care #SONA2019

To add insult to injury, you want us to believe in the National Development Plan. I dont know when last you walked the halls of a uni @CyrilRamaphosa, but there's this thing called DP. Without it you cant write the exam. Mr President, Im sorry to say, we didn't get DP for the NDP

NDP is a failed economic plan that will join the garbage bin of all of RSA other garbage ecos plans. RDP, Gear, Asgisa, Jipsa, New Growth Path, all the industrial policy action plans.

Its actually a lot when you think about it. But aight you know what, letd go with NDP #SONA2019

Don't tell us about the 4IR when gov depts can't even update their websites.

Acting like gov doesn't still use Z83 forms😒

Let's be serious Mr President. Giving a child tablet or teaching them to code is not embracing 4IR. It is misleading to insinuate that that is the case.

Im not angry with you @CyrilRamaphosa, just disappointed. We dont need you to tell us about the state of the nation. We already know it's shit. Don't tell us about your dreams.

Tell us the plan. Step by step. Action by action. Deadline by deadline. Who's accountable #SONA2019

Is it to much to ask you to tell us exactly what we as citizens can do right now. Tell us what is in this comprehensive plan and who should we fire if we fail to achieve it.

Give us the Business Plan. Give us something to do. #SONA2019

We already returned the dreams our parents were sold in 94. Dont make us return these ones as well.
