The immediate issue is not their being detained the issue is the absolutely abhorrent unsanitary, unsafe and inhumane conditions they are being kept in. Toddlers and preteens did not ask to be here. They were brought here. Read the article.

Using the fear of children being taken away, imprisoned in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, and possibly dying or being molested as a deterant to seeking asylum is just as gross and disturbing as it first appears.
