U.S. Border Patrol agents on Sunday found four bodies near the Rio Grande River in South Texas.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff tweeted that two of them were infants, one was a toddler and the last was a 20-year-old woman. bit.ly/2Xz8Dr2
U.S. Sen. @JohnCornyn weighed in on the situation on Twitter early Monday morning.

“Sadly, this is what happens when infants are used as a ticket to enter the US due to arcane laws,” Cornyn said. “Inaction is not an option.” bit.ly/2x9Eik3
The reported deaths found near the Rio Grande in South Texas follow several days of news reports around troubling conditions inside border-area detention centers. bit.ly/2x9Eik3
Last week, 4 toddlers were hospitalized after lawyers visited a facility & found them severely ill & not receiving medical attention, according to the Huffington Post.

They were under 3.

Subject Attacks Agent Following Attempted Rescue

EAGLE PASS, Texas – An agent from the Eagle Pass Station was assaulted during an encounter along the Rio Grande River. The assailant, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, illegally entered the United States.
“This incident is an example of the threats and risks faced by U.S. Border Patrol agents as they work to secure the border,” said Del Rio Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Mathew J. Hudak.

Friday, McAllen agents working near Mission, Texas, observed smugglers utilize a raft filled with bundles of marijuana cross the Rio Grande. After crossing, the smugglers loaded the narcotics into a Ford F-150 parked along the river.

On Saturday, Fort Brown agents apprehended a group of eight illegal aliens near Isla Blanca Park in South Padre Island, Texas.
While processing the group, agents identified one of the illegal aliens as a recidivist alien with a prior arrest and conviction in St. Paul, Minnesota, for sexual exploitation of a minor – sexual performance.
