The false equivalence that you're pushing is one between starting a fight and finishing one.
@ChrisCurran_IRE @LeoVaradkar If you start a fight with a stronger adversary, thinking that you have sufficient backup to win, and you learn to your regret that your stronger adversary has friends who are stronger still, and you get clobbered, that's on you.

@ChrisCurran_IRE @LeoVaradkar I'm not even going to attempt that discussion with you. I've seen the trouble the Irish have with the concept of multi-raciality. But, to anybody rational reading this, I'll pose a question: if we were to return Illinois to its natives, to whom would we return it?
@ChrisCurran_IRE @LeoVaradkar What is now Illinois was largely ethnically cleansed by migrants from other parts of North America shortly before the Europeans showed up. As for the woodland tribes, they mostly survive only in mostly non-native mixed-race descendants like me.

Ever since Jamal Khashoggi was murdered, tweets have been popping up falsely equating his situation with that of Julian Assange (who is quite alive). The topic has gained momentum since it became public that Assange has been charged.

We downloaded tweets containing "Khashoggi" and "Assange", resulting in 3539 tweets from 2679 accounts since the time of the murder. The smaller spike back in October is largely due to @LeeCamp's tweet pictured in the first tweet of this thread.
Retweet network for Khashoggi + Assange. The cluster pushing the false equivalence center on @sahouraxo; many of these accounts routinely promote #FalseFlag theories re Syria. @JackPosobiec joins them. The cluster centered on @RVAwonk contains accounts pointing out the fallacy.

THREAD showing evidence I've come across that suggests the recent murder of a young Jewish man in California was committed by a neo-Nazi, possibly as a politically motivated killing. (Sat on this for a week waiting on editors but now bits of the info are already out, so fuck it).
On January 2nd a 19-year-old Jewish man went missing in southern California. He turned up dead on Jan 9th, buried in a shallow grave in Borrego Park (wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=3…). A former class-mate was arrested on suspicion of the murder on Jan 12th.
The deceased is Blaze Bernstein and the suspected killer--now charged with the murder--is Sam Woodward, 20. (Referred to here on out as Blaze and Sam). See the next tweet for the LA Times story.
