If there's any doubt about this, take a look at the Right on Brexit. Would you say closer to "cunning handling" or closer to "simplist morons"?
The only people still getting animated by "that bus" are people who got very angry about it (justifiably for a while, I may add). I doubt it even crossed Johnson's mind while he was trying to string a sentence - any sentence - together.
