This is true. But a red herring. The EU isn’t going to sign (why should it?) any trade agreement with the U.K. unless the issues of money, the Irish border and citizens rights are addressed. telegraph.co.uk/politics/2019/…
All “no deal” does is to inflict pain on the U.K. while we delay accepting the inevitable. The EU just sits and waits, making temporary arrangements to suit itself.
We also lose the transition period - a U.K. ask, designed to ensure there was only one change in our relationship with the EU for business to have to adapt to (EU to final relationship). Only possible in a Withdrawal Agreement under A50: not available after we’ve crashed out.
“No deal” a la Martin Howe/@lawyers4britain means two drastic adjustments (EU to no deal and then no deal to deal) - as well as huge uncertainty. Uncertainty means costs and reduced investment. So fewer and worse jobs. Not to mention the burden of tariffs on U.K. consumers.
“F*** business”, as someone said. But also “f*** jobs” and “f*** consumers”.
