.@ChrisCuomo, bring me back on and let's talk about private insurance and how Americans feel about it relative to #MedicareforAll. I respectfully disagree with your assessment tonight!
Very few people like private insurance companies. What they like are their doctors and hospitals. Once you explain to them that Medicare for All would allow them to KEEP their doctors--in fact have MORE choice b/c there is no "out of network" doctor--they are delighted.
Private insurance would still be allowed to exist and can be innovative in coming up with other services they can charge for. But they just won't be able to provide the same services covered under the expanded & improved #MedicareForAll plan (designed to be comprehensive).
BTW--in any other context, coming up with a way to provide better care & service for less money would be called "innovative disruption"--think Uber, Lyft, etc. Why is it when it comes to Healthcare, there is this terrible concern about spending less and giving people more??
