NT! Just a short while ago, "The Boss" made an a** of herself (when doesn't she?) over the deferment plans by some of her colleagues regarding the COLA raise that was slated to go into effect for all members of Congress ...
To the tune of $4,500 month. Remember that? Well, the subject has come up again, with @GOPLeader Kevin McCarthy saying that he agrees with her, because he doesn't think members should be millionaires to serve in Congress.
All well and good. They haven't sen a COLA raise since 2009. But, do they deserve a raise is my question. In my opinion, they do not. They were elected to do the People's work, to work for their constituents, to solve their issues.
Yet, too many of our Representatives and Senators - on both sides of the aisle - are using their positions to push their little pet agendas, irrespective of their constituents desires, or the good of the Nation as a whole.
Until such time as they actually get stuff done that We The People sent them to Washington DC to do, such as fixing the immigration laws, infrastructure, a better health care system (NOT Medicare For All), among others, they don't deserve a raise, imo. YMMV.
