How's THIS for repugnant: In 1864, with the Civil War raging & the outcome in doubt, 63 of 82 Democrats voted AGAINST the 13th Amendment officially abolishing slavery. All 118 Republicans voted "Aye."

@MSH3RIDAN 2) Every single Democrat voted AGAINST the 14th Amendment, guaranteeing rights of citizenship, and the 15th, extending the voting franchise to all black males.

Republicans, Party of Progress For All, saved the Union. The Democrat White Power Party fought to destroy the nation.

@MSH3RIDAN 3) In 1866, recalcitrant Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest formed the Ku-Klux-Klan as a paramilitary wing of the Democratic Party to keep "uppity niggers" in their place. The Party officially honored Forrest as the first KKK Grand Wizard at its 1868 National Convention.

@MSH3RIDAN 4) A 13-volume "Report of the Joint Select Committee to Inquire Into the Condition of Affairs in the Late Insurrectionary States" irrefutably documents the KKK’s deadly role in the Democratic Party. Notably, the Klan lynched an estimated 3,446 blacks & 1,279 whites,1882-1964.

@MSH3RIDAN 5) When Democrat Senator Wade Hampton ran for governor of South Carolina in 1876, the Klan told Democrat voters they "must feel honor bound to control the vote of at least one Negro by intimidation ... Democrats must go (to the polls) in large numbers…and well-armed.”
