The Democrats should and will do whatever they are going to do ideologically. But here’s a factual observation. Leaving apart elections in which they run incumbents, they tend to win the presidency with younger, newer, or fresher candidates, as opposed to candidates who aren’t.
Kennedy. Carter. Bill Clinton. Obama. They all won.

Mondale. Kerry. Hillary Clinton. They lost.
Should have included Gore, obviously, in the latter list.

Much has been made of Mueller not interviewing Teump personally, under oath. However, it hasn’t been reported that the Mueller questions Trump answered were answered under oath, under penalty of perjury.
There has been much consternation and hand-wringing, wondering what if Trump invoked executive privilege? What if he couldn’t “recall?” What if he didn’t answer fully?
