Poor little CAJA are always the last to sell. I suspect that means more people need to know about these wonderful birds. Here are my 5 favorite things:
Their baby faces are a likely byproduct of the fact they don’t do much probing in the ground like other corvids. Instead they make sticky saliva and glue extra food to trees corvidresearch.blog/2018/10/19/you…
They more regularly carry food with their feet relative to other corvids. I once saw one make off with an entire slice of bread betwixt its toes!
They typically lay 3-4 eggs. Once the young reach independence, the most dominant sibling will chase all the others off the territory and spend the rest of the year with mom and dad. #FavoriteChild
They are fierce little meat eaters when the occasion calls for it!
