I try to keep my tweets for this account easy and bite sized. This one deserves a bit more detail.

We attended a O/D suicide attempt last night. It was in the subjects home address with his wife present. Nice house. Nice street. Call came in from Ambo initially as Male was
Reported as being violent. When we arrived he was U/C. Ambo a short time later and set to work. It was a tight space and as things played out, we needed to get this person out. They required urgent medical intervention.
The space was too tight for carry chairs, scoops or stretchers, we went old school and literally carried his convulsing body into the street and onto a stretcher. His wife following on, clearly devastated.
At this point, I experienced a new low for human nature. It was at this point that some other occupants of the street decided to come out and have a go at the wife about some neighbourly dispute and despite clearly seeing what was happening
They continued even after being very clearly told to let it go and vanish. Now normally I’m one to try and understand both sides but on this occasion I was truly disappointed to share the same town as these “people”
I don’t care what the dispute is about. To be out catcalling anyone in the midst of this is despicable. I hope you’ve woken up this morning and can’t look yourself in the mirror through shame. The root of this dispute. The lack of an invite to a birthday party.
Apologies for the length of this but this is one of those jobs that got me. If you are suffering with mental health issues. Talk to someone. Don’t get to the stage where we are carrying you out of a house. It’s ok to not be ok.
And then it’s time to decompress with the boy. Ball, waves and swimming followed by a pint. (For me not him) #happyplace
