1) I'm a politics reporter. Therefore, I'm not supposed to have opinions, feelings, preferences, and the like. If you follow me, you know I think that the "unbiased journalist" is not only a total farce, but it's a dangerous falsehood. We're all people. We all have opinions.
2) The cult of Both-Sidesism (yes, it's a cult), is disastrous to the U.S., convincing tens of millions of Americans who casually consume media that there is some mythical equivalence b/n white nationalism and people who believe in justice for all people.
3) That being said: I can't express the emotions I feel listening to four brave women of color, facing death threats, who in the most genuine way, based on their life experiences that I can't comprehend, speak real truth to power. Unfiltered. Without regard to their careers.
4) How often can you say this has happened in your lifetime?
We are clearly facing the threat of ethno-nationalism in America, due to actual white nationalists in the White House & Congress, & a compliant Democratic leadership that does nothing other than furrow their brows.

5) We're seeing the complete ineptitude of "Slay Queens" like Nancy Pelosi, whom mainstream media & the pundit class have anointed as the most talented politician in modern history, & who bend over backwards for our white nationalist president, funding his concentration camps...
6) ...and confirming his reactionary judges.
These four women of color face a barrage of racist hate on a daily basis, including from their own Democratic colleagues, the same ppl who pretend to call out Trump for attacking The Squad while AT THE SAME TIME attacking The Squad.

I know that the real change-makers of history have always faced uphill battles. Some were murdered in the mid-20th century for making history.
And I also know how grateful I am to The Squad for their bravery & their truths. Sometimes, it makes my eyes water.

8) A few years ago I would censor my tweets in fear of a legacy paper or a prestigious media nonprofit rejecting my applications because of supposed bias.
9/9) I'm way beyond giving a shit. We don't have time to adhere to archaic standards. We need to save the US from fascism and the planet from climate apocalypse.
