Dorking station to town centre is seriously the worst bike route I have ever ridden in my life
Oh you THINK this nice friendly sign that says ‘DORKING STATION’ with a picture of a bike might take you on a bike route to dorking station?
Fool. Clearly it takes you into a car park from which the only exits are a tiny footpath or going the wrong way down a one way road.
Or you find a nice bike lane on the pavement of a dual carriageways and think you might make it
But then it just ceases to exist when you’re on the wrong side of the road so there’s nowhere to legally go but backwards
Best I can figure you’re supposed to teleport 50m to where it starts again?
You can try cycling it but you’ll definitely get stuck behind a cloud of pedestrians who have decided to walk in the most inconvenient configuration possible
and odds are good some knobhead stopped somewhere he definitely shouldn’t be stopped will yell at you from his car window for cycling on the pavement
Like fuck offffff
There must be a route but I think you can only find it on like the first day after a full moon if you take every third left and make a sacrifice to the bike lane gods or something
And don’t even get me started on the one way system
Honestly all cars should just be banned anywhere near town centres
