1. You may be wondering WTF is happening at the New York Times.

Let me explain in plain English.
2. Google and Facebook are destroying the journalism industry. The legacy publications that have survived are under pressure to appeal to the widest possible audience.

When the NYT plays "both sides," it's not about journalism. It's about the business model.
3. The NYT does some amazing journalism but, in a lot of cases, it's poorly positioned to challenge people in power. It needs ACCESS to powerful people for its reporting. And it needs to be a comfortable place for powerful corporations to advertise.

Over the past few months I have collected 500+ Trump, Pence and RNC tracking URLs dating back to June 2016. I've shared bits & pieces of this (⏬) as I've been looking under the hood, in search of the truth behind Project Alamo/Trump marketing ops.

The 500+ links are tracking links. They contain custom variables team Trump/Pence/RNC attached to links so they could measure & analyze performance via Google Analytics.

You can learn a lot about a marketing program by examining their tracking links. So here's the 1st nugget:

#1: Trump campaign used Facebook Messenger bots to communicate w/voters 1-on-1.

Since Fri. 5 pm:
*POTUS notified a porn star he might seek $20M from her;
*DOJ fired former deputy FBI director McCabe hours before retirement, as POTUS wanted;
* we learned Trump campaign data firm Cambridge Analytica had unauthorized access to 50 million people's FB data.
All 3 of these stories are of potential consequence.
1) POTUS notifying court he might seek $20M from @StormyDaniels means he is now acknowledging he was party to the NDA Her attorney @MichaelAvenatti was daring POTUS to sue them and amazingly he took the bait. Discovery awaits.
2) Regardless of the merits of what the FBI disciplinary officials recommended regarding McCabe, he is now quite likely in a quite different position and frame of mind than he would have been. And he’s a witness for Mueller.
