The @UKLabour approach is baffling. No. Dangerous. No. Criminally inept. Holding rallies to call for a general election while refusing to back Libs on confidence motion. And Milne telling colleagues if Johnson gets a deal through it will be good for Labour. Wtf
These posh boy revolutionaries are in danger of destroying Labour and of helping the most right wing government Britain has ever known to win an election. For God’s sake can people wake up and see what is happening and get a strategy and team to match the challenge?
Johnson is crashing and burning to force an early election because he fears he would lose a referendum on No deal v no Brexit but thinks he can beat Corbyn whatever the issues and so get a mandate he currently does not have. Labour sleep walking. Desperate times. Wake up ffs

1. Sad and disappointed to receive email expelling me from @uklabour - particularly on a day leadership finally seems to be moving to the right place on Brexit, not least thanks to tactical voting by party members, including MPs, councillors and peers who back @peoplesvote_uk .
2. I was not intending to publicise this at this stage, but have had calls from friends in the Party telling me it is now widely known and likely to be leaked. I have been advised by lawyers with expertise in this field I have grounds for appeal against expulsion and shall do so
3. I am and always will be Labour. I voted Lib Dem, without advance publicity, to try to persuade Labour to do right thing for country/party. In light of appeal, I won't be doing media on this. But hard not to point out difference in the way anti-Semitism cases have been handled.

Had this motion passed, the opposition could have taken control of parliament and stopped Brexit on its own initiative.

The fact that is failed doesn't mean Brexit can't be stopped, just not in that particular way.
The Tories haven't got a leader yet. When they do, whoever it is - just say it could be any of them - whoever it is has already committed themself to go back to Europe and renegotiate the withdrawal agreement.
Which we know is going to fail.

It is highly likely that we shall have three prime ministers this year, and that by the end of it the Conservative Party as we’ve known it will have ceased to exist. It is also likely that by year’s-end we shall have either revoked our notification to leave the European Union or
committed ourselves to a fresh referendum. None of these outcomes is certain but each is more likely than not.
I reach what may sound like three wild conclusions by the application of logic to the situation we’re now in.

🇪🇸 demonstrations took place yesterday against the @sanchezcastejon government. They were organised by 3 political parties, specifically the conservative @PPopular , centre-right @CiudadanosCs and far right #Vox who accuse Sanchez of treason and call for a general election. 📣👇
The pretext sparking the rally was Sanchez accepting an independent facilitator in future talks with the Catalans. Adding to this is that Rajoy was ousted in a no confidence vote last June and elections have not been called to give Sanchez a democratic mandate.
Sanchez relied on Catalan support in the no confidence vote and has been holding talks with regional Catalan leaders to ease tensions 👉The Sanchez approach to Catalonia is also driven by pragmatic reasons, since is dependent on their support to pass legislation e.g. his budget.
