1. Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX), President Trump's pick for Director of National Intelligence, has virtually no experience in the field. But he's been a vigorous defender of the president and critic of the Mueller probe, including on Trump's favorite television shows.
2. Here he is on Fox & Friends the morning after the Mueller hearings saying that the report was written by "lawyers that didn't like Donald Trump" and we need to find out whether the way "Russia really did interfere" was with a "fake dossier."
3. Ratcliffe: "The big winner yesterday was Donald Trump, because impeachment is dead."
4. Ratcliffe also accused both James Comey and Hillary Clinton of violating the Espionage Act and says that DOJ "really needs to focus on that" to ensure "accountability."
5. Trump is getting rid of people who refuse to operate in his personal interest and replacing them with people who will.
6. Trump viewed Jeff Sessions recusing himself as a personal betrayal because he thinks the AG should function as the president's fixer. His replacement, Bill Barr, kicked off the "investigate the investigators" probe Fox wanted.
7. As DNI, Dan Coats wouldn't shut up about Russian interference in the 2016 election or the danger for 2020. His would-be replacement thinks the "real" collusion in 2016 was between Russia and the Democrats.
