"I'm about to go to a party and I feel insecure. What should I do?"

Ask yourself why do you feel insecure..

Probably because you want to feel validated by others.

Here's something that will make you feel better...

(See rest of thread 👇🏻)
Each person at the party is thinking about himself.

They are not focused on you.

Although, what they are doing is to observe who is the most confident and social person at the party.

That person will naturally attract people to him.
If you want to be that person, here's how:

Before you go to the party, talk to random people on the way.

Say hi to strangers, talk and open up.

That's how you'll warm up your social muscles and increase your confidence.

Before you get there you'll feel like a boss.
At the party, here's what you should do:

1. Have a confident body language.

Stand up straight, shoulders back, chest forward, hands to the sides.

And most importantly: smile.

2. When you start seeing people, say hi. No matter if you know them or not.
It shows that you are friendly and confident.

Talk to everyone. Not just people you are comfortable with.

Compliment them on their style, ask them questions, have fun.

The more you talk to people, the more you'll open yourself up and relax.
Try to make sure you talk to most of the people at the party.

That's how you practice being social and you look like everyone knows you.

3. Self amusement.

Instead of trying to make people like you and trying too hard

Shift your focus from people pleasing to self amusement.
Do things that will make you laugh.

Challenge people, make jokes, play around and make yourself smile.

2 things will happen.

- You will actually have fun.

- You will make people want to be around you.

People want to have fun but they don't know how to create fun.
You are creating fun by amusing yourself.

That's how you become the the most social person at the party.

You do that by being the party.

Talking, having fun, smiling, fooling around and making you and others feel good.
The more you practice the 3 steps, the easier it will be.

You'll see that you'll slowly become a naturally social person.

Talking to people will be easier.

Your confidence will increase.

You will actually enjoy being yourself no matter where you are.
It doesn't matter if you are shy or insecure right now.

You can be whoever you want to be.

You do that by practicing being the person you want to become.

Start now, see it as a game.

Don't take anything too seriously.

Life is a game.

Make your own rules.
