I really don't understand why this is true, but every time I walk by a bank that I haven't seen before I think "Ooh I wonder what their checking account is like", as if it would be totally unlike the checking account at literally every other bank.
And you can imagine the angel/devil on my shoulder arguing about whether I should spend an hour to open another account:
"This is really silly and would serve no purpose."
