Before I got pregnant , I was about 70kg. During the first three months, the hyperemesis gravidarum was severe and it made me drop so much. I think I was about 60. I grew so lean that my husband became really worried.
Fast forward to about two months later, I was more chubby but my tummy wasn’t getting big. I became worried again, I kept asking my doctor why I had no pouch and almost every woman at antenatal were showing already. Doctor would look at me and laugh so loud,
he would tell me to be thankful because some people want my kind of body.

Now imagine my surprise when at almost eight months, I blew up. My tummy was so big that walking was a huge chore. At this stage, I started wishing for a smaller tummy, it was so much.
I was over 90kg a week before the baby came.

Baby came out big so we understood the whole blowing up. Then about four weeks post partum, I had dropped drastically again to about 67. My mum was so alarmed and I was scared myself, I mean,I was breastfeeding,I shouldn’t be so lean
The reason for this however, was because I wasn’t eating, there was no appetite and my hormones were raging.

Mum came over and I started using vitamins by force and eating a lot, so I got back to 71kg.
Now, people see my pictures and tell me they want my kind of post partum body and I smile. Nobody knows the struggle I have gone through or that I am still going through. I still have a small pouch but it isn’t obvious in pictures. It looks flat but na scam.
Please don’t overburden yourself, we heal differently and nobody really posts the ugly parts on Social media.

The lesson from my thread this morning is that we should appreciate where we are at any point in time and not use someone else’s story to judge ours, you really don’t know the full story, be content.

And remember you are doing amazing❤️❤️❤️
