American culture’s gun worship is a function of white identity politics.
In a sane world, we‘d all be able to rally around common sense gun law reforms in the wake of daily carnage.

We wouldn’t have to repeal the Second Amendment to do sane things to reduce gun violence and #massshootings like in El Paso. But those who thrive on white identity politics will tell you it’s the only other option—or point to red herrings like video games.
