Happening now: A group of faith leaders — including Rev. Robert Schenck and Episcopal Bishop Marianne Budde of Washington — are currently protesting outside Sen. Mitch McConnell’s office demanding that Congress take action on gun violence.

Clergy are currently taking turns praying and reading the names of those felled in recent mass shootings.
Schenck notes that McConnell was reportedly raised Presbyterian.

Budde speaking now, suggesting that she hopes people will look back on the current scourge of gun violence with disdain the same way many today look back on the scourge of lynchings the same way.
Rabbi Jack Moline (center) of Interfaith Alliance just spoke. Said gun violence is not about race or religion, “it is guns.”
