Exclusive: @JamesStewartNYT visited Jeffrey Epstein at his home last year.

He said he didn't think having sex with teenagers should be criminalized.

@JamesStewartNYT Jim went to Epstein's NY mansion to discuss rumors that he was advising @elonmusk. Epstein didn't want to talk much about that. (@Tesla says it's not true.) But he was effusive on other topics, including sex and his connections to the rich and powerful.
@JamesStewartNYT @elonmusk @Tesla The interview took place "on background," which means the @nytimes couldn't directly attribute anything to Epstein.

Now he is dead, and, given the circumstances, we think that publishing his comments is the right thing to do.

In 1992 the Office of Foreign Missions rented to Jeffrey Epstein the residence located at 34 East 69 Street
formerly used by the Deputy Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran (“Iran”). The lease commenced on February 1, 1992. Initially the lease was for a 2- year term.

On August 1992 Epstein extended the lease term for an additional 5 years through 1997.
The Office of Foreign Missions (OFM) is responsible for implementing the Secretary’s mandate under the Foreign Missions Act 2 facilitate secure + efficient operations of U.S. missions abroad, and of foreign missions + international organizations in the US

Thread: On Jeffrey Epstein

1. His death is yet another hot topic covered by many about which I’ll provide my own take. First, a little biographical background on the man (there are plenty of biographical sketches on the ‘Net).
2. Who was he? Stories abound: a gadfly among the “rich and famous,” a man of mystery, a convicted pedophile, a guy capable of blackmailing a LOT of people, the proprietor of “Pedophile Island,” a procurer/provider of under-age women to well-known people, etc.
3. Much has been written/speculated about his exploits – including on the source of his wealth, the people he “befriended,” etc. – and much more will be forthcoming as evidence collected by law enforcement personnel from his estate and island is made public.
