It's 2019 and everything is a trashfire but I'm starting to see a really lovely resurgence of interesting and thoughtfully executed personal websites*, so I'm starting a thread to keep track of them all.

*Bonus points if the personal website is also a blog.
My favorite personal site of late is definitely @TatianaTMac's. I especially, especially love her speaking section, where future events are styled as tickets and past events are styled as stamps.

tatianamac.com
@TatianaTMac Another favorite is @chase_mccoy. It looks like he recently redesigned it, and while I also loved his old design, the folder theme (favicon + writing section) he has going is pretty great. Extra points for the clever folder hover states.

@TatianaTMac @chase_mccoy I don't even know where to start with @omgadamho's portfolio site. It's dynamic and wacky and matches the work he's displaying perfectly.

adamho.com
@TatianaTMac @chase_mccoy @omgadamho @marinarachel demonstrates how to use bold type as a first-class visual element. Also, it's all done with just two open source fonts.

marinarachello.com
@TatianaTMac @chase_mccoy @omgadamho @marinarachel Software engineers: if you want to know what a well-designed personal website looks like, look no further than @kwuchu's iheanyi.com.

I love the gradient page border, the offset highlighting effect on the text and the rotating footer photo hover state.
