At @NAHJ awards, it’s president @HugoBalta says under Trump’s presidency Latinos are consistently being dehumanized and that it’s exhausting to defend our community from these attacks, with Hispanics pushed to the margins and made to feel as outsiders. #EIJ19
he continued that we can not be intimidated by the negative narrative that seeks to divide us as a community and as a family. He said we should band together to change the system, rise up using our voices as journalists, and embrace the American values of equality for all #EIJ19
After the 1619 Project & it’s critical look at expanding what we accept as American history, it’s fascinating to see @EstuardoDC pitching the American Latino Museum at #EIJ19. He presented it thru prism of Latinos setting our narrative so others don’t, and including our history.
