The choice of the #MacKinnonReport to only use the measure of per capita spending guaranteed the outcome. Because that measure fully ignores the fact that Albertans earn more across the board (public and private) compared to other provinces. It's called the free market. #ableg
Per capita spending also ignores cost of living and the fact that Alberta's economy is still very clearly the strongest in Canada.
And per capita spending ignores, of course, the fact that Alberta's tax system raises by far the least amount of revenue of any tax system in Canada.
If you want to pre-determine the outcome of research, narrow your data set to only information that suits your argument. That's what the #MacKinnonReport did. This was not an "independent" panel. It was ideological, pre-determined political gimmick to justify cuts. #ableg
