This weekend’s cultural resistance in El Paso, Tx left us humbled & with a sense of renewed commitment and hope towards our fight for justice. We remain strong - firme - and resilient. Because no wall or cage can restrain a song. 🎶 Somos #ElPasoFirme! Check out the highlights 👇🏾
We kicked off the events on Friday protesting outside a detention center by joining our voices with artists like @lasantacecilia, @Icryduringsex and @DosDueto who serenaded the migrants locked inside in a beautiful act of ❤️ and resistance.
That same day @BNHR hosted a heartwarming luncheon with visiting artists & families affected by the Aug 3rd shooting in El Paso.

"No reaccioné hasta que leí el manifiesto. Ahí me quedó claro que venía a matar mexicanos. Venía a matarnos." - Guillermo Glenn, activista local.
Saturday's cultural fest started off bright and early as we took to the streets of Segundo Barrio to say #YaBasta! No a la supremacía blanca. No a la xenofobia. No more hate. We need justice. We need compassion. And we're not afraid. We're here to stay. ¡Estamos y nos nos vamos!
The procession was followed by a community assembly at Sacred Heart Church. Members from the 3 orgs behind #ElPasoFirme: @BNHR, @NDLON and @RAICESTEXAS spoke out.

"Es hora que nos paremos y digamos ya es suficiente. #YaBasta." - Juana Guzman, RAICES Campaign Coordinator
Saturday night's cultural action #ElPasoFirme gathered approximately 3,000 people and aimed at bringing attention "to the reasons that caused the racist attack in El Paso," including the "hateful narrative against immigrants and refugees by President Trump." - @FernandoBNHR
"We try to heal with our music and to show the families that we're with them." - Emily Rosas of @DosDueto

Subimos.” - @anatijoux
Ron Stallworth delivered a powerful speech on the need to take action against white supremacy at #ElPasoFirme. Ron infiltrated the ranks of the KKK in Colorado in the late 1970s.
Unidad. Amor. Y canto 🎶 Eso fue y es #ElPasoFirme.

Que mujerazas! Thank you to @anatijoux, @lasantacecilia and @RebecaLane6 for leading the show and to ALL the women behind the scenes who made it possible.

Son unas poderosas ❤️✊🏾
“We are here and we will NOT let white supremacy win! Love will win. Community will win.” - @ErikaAndiola, RAICES Chief Advocacy Officer
#ElPasoFirme wasn't a moment in time...it became a movement. This wasn't the end but the just the beginning.

Thank you to @BNHR & @NDLON for giving us the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful group of people in support of the El Paso community.

¡La lucha sigue!
