People are so quick to speak but if youre trying to become better its in your best interest to shut up and listen to people who know what theyre talking about.
Focus on the process. The ONLY thing you can control is your handicap. Once the game starts, and you realize your CLV, everything else is out your of control. Its fun to sweat, but ultimately it means nothing.
There are so many good books, articles and podcasts out there on sports betting. Read them (or listen to them). Some of them are complete fluff, and some of them are awesome. But even if theyre complete shit you might be able to find a nugget or two that applies.
Just because you believe something to be true doesnt mean it is. Just because you agree or disagree with something doesnt mean its right or wrong. As you gain more information you need to be willing to move off a position.
Whether you want to realize it or not, CLV matters and your goal should be to rack up as much of it as possible. The best and easiest way to do that is to bet early. Understand when lines come out and be ready to fire. Your numbers be set before odds are released.
Twitter is an incredible place to meet like minded people. Ask to join group DMs. As is the common theme, most of them will be filled with clueless people, but every once in a while youll find one with people who know what theyre doing and are willing to work together.
Dont be afraid to ask question. Most people on here are willing to answer questions if they see them and theyre well thought out. Worst case scenario when you ask a question is that it doesnt get answered. Oh well 🤷♂️
Dont be afraid to bet a sport or market you know nothing about. Some of the most fun ive had is learning about sports i knew nothing about. Dont be afraid to try implementing something to your process or handicap.
Make sure you spend time reflecting on the bets youve made, when youve made them, you process in making them, everything. Whats working and whats not. Its hard to be critical of yourself, but its really the only way we learn and grow.

Even if you have zero experience in excel or arent that mathematically inclined, spend some time building a model. It probably wont be predictive, hell it might not even be good at all, but at least it forces you to think more in depth and research the sport
